this one has just so freakin much personality and subtleties - despite the over-the-top (even cartoonish!) expression, there is so much happening under the surface, in his eyes, the lines of his face. questioning, a little smugness, a lot of play, a little bit of joy, some leaning back to make the viewer lean forward - an explicit invitation. even a little sadness or shock? amazing how much emotion is playing out in the different contours of his face.
I don't have a clue who this guy is, but it's a brilliant capture. and while he is obviously a charismatic & charming guy, I also have no doubt that he doesn't show this side of him to just anybody - you are quite skilled at bringing out such artistic personalities in your subjects. I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007.
