Alex Hestoft | Library Card, Mayor of... / The Good World, Chinatown November 16, 2007
Extremely interesting shot.
Great background and texture. - Mikey Nice aspect -- love the broadness of the frame. I feel bad for the people in the mirrors, tho -- with their backs turned, they're missing out on a neat scene. - Spamboy - http://www.spamboy.com/ Looks like he's sitting outside, and those are windows... not mirrors... - Brian I totally thought he *was* sitting outside. Love the location and the tectures in this shot. - Jocelyn - http://www.myspace.com/jocelynryder nice scene (to use spamboy's wording), but his face seems to0 far away, his boot more accessible - henry Another great candid portrait. The colors are magnificent - the everyday blue, the royal purple offset so well with the rich, textured golden brown is the background. The setting reminds me more of the Wild West than of Chinatown.
I like seeing Bill Wadman's 'working' image in the mirror, too. - Julie The set looks like a movie set. The colors are very rich and beautiful.
Great shot! - Adam-- 11/2! - www.trainedfleas.com i am in LOVE with this portrait. it's like a scene from a movie and i can't help wondering what came right before and what is about to happen right after.
ps i vote he is sitting outside, that those are windows not mirrors. (not that there was an official vote but...) - story - prettylittlemess.wordpress.com hesty i love you..... you too wadman - KB textures and color are great. it feels like you're opening up a whole world, so much going on. the background looks medieval, couldn't possibly be in nyc!
those are definitely windows.
i wonder if that's the expression that mr. hestoft always has while he's taking a sip. - jess I've noticed with many of your pictures that the saturation and contrast is boosted way too high, creating a loss of color definition and "black-holes". Though the subject matter usually is interesting, the coloring throws off the image entirely.
Tone down a little bit, for you're giving people super-human coloring and are ultimately causing the pictures to lose their charm. The images are great on their own, you don't need to try that hard to create attention. - Scott Daniel Barman A geat picture and model / situation - Thomas - http://www.foto.ttlive.de I can't think of one thing wrong with this photo. The thing you did with the browns here, is genius. Alex's expression just adds to the perfectness of this photo. One of the bestest you took, Bill. Congrats!!! - Ela brilliant shot - love how you captured the environment ! - Maarten - http://blog.bitprocessor.be the background is way too distracting - photogeek I like the guys expression and the description of the place where this photo is taken... but I find the image a bit unnatural. Is this an HDR of some sort? The background a looks unnaturally bright to me. The shadows under the table look brighter than the guy's face... something is wrong here. - Vlad One of the best! Love the browns with the purple jacke. Great perpective shoot, and his foot only adds to that. Absolutely awesome! - Gary Hunter This shot has a lot of presence. I think it's oversharpened or something. You can get that all-over sparkly effect. Pretty cool. - Ed Atkeson
I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. Each photo was taken that day, and each day was a different subject. Some were be in the studio, some in the wild. Hopefully they are all interesting.
