Chelsea Sexton | Unlikely Activist, Alternative Fuel Gearhead / Eagle Rock, CA December 01, 2007
I know this woman! She's revered in the world of electric vehicles and knows more about the subject than almost anyone on the planet. One of the more articulate people I know. I've shot her myself a few times for various publications, but nothing comes close to this. I am very impressed with Mr. Wadman's abilities. Super lighting! - Paul Bill, this should be the cover photo for the 365 Portraits book. This is an amazing photograph. You've done an outstanding job of capturing, in wonderfully loving detail, the beauty of both Chelsea and California. - Jocelyn - http://www.myspace.com/jocelynryder gorgeous...photo and subject - Carlos - http://fortstreetpulse.com Beautiful photo all around. - Tina I love how the wind in her hair makes it looked charged by electricity, like a physic experiment. A perfect touch for this particular subject. - Beth A great portrait ... I really love it! - Thomas - http://www.foto.ttlive.de My computer screen is too small to see this photo well enough. It is amazing! I agree with Jocelyn, this should be the cover photo of the 365Portraits Book, should you plan to publish one. I definitely see this printed to at least 50" size in a gallery. If your work wasn't absolutely awesome till no, with this you proved it is!!! Congratulations Bill! - Ela The backlighting is spectacular. First day of the last month. I'll miss these daily updates. - Veronique - http://veroniquemoisan.com Definitely the best portrait in the set. You've outdone yourself! - Thiago Silva - http://flickr.com/photos/thiagosilva/ Just - wow!!! This is definitly one of my favorites of the whole project. Maybe even my absolute favorite... (I'd have to browse through my collection and think about it as there were so many extraordinary pictures...)
I agree with Veronique - I'll miss this too! - Anne I didn't realize this would be over so soon! This is one of my top favorites, everything about it is wonderful! - Danielle This is an absolutely spectacular portrait. I love how you captured her hair blowing in the wind. The placement of her hair is an essential design element that really adds to the composition. Her expression is warm and personable. I feel a genuine connection here between subject and photographer. Congratulations, Bill. Very well done! - Richard now this is brilliant - Ulrich - http://uhilger.de Congratulations, Bill! I agree with Jocelyn, Thiago, and Anne - this my absolute favorite for the entire year (which I've just re-visited). The lighting is perfect, having an electrifying feel to it and, as Beth points out, is perfect for the subject. The wind through her hair is perfect too. Last, and most important, Chelsea is beautiful; you can see the intelligence and feel the warmth of the person in a single glance. An activist turned model? - Dave Bill - I've been following your posts everyday for the past couple of months, but have never taken the time to post and thank you for your work. You're site has become the first of over 100 RSS feeds I check everyday. Your work has reminded me how much I missed photography and inspired me to get back behind the camera. I hope you'll keep the work coming. Today's post is excellent as always. - Aaron - www.flickr.com/gobarnstorm Hands down, this is my absolute favorite, too. Everything about this portrait is exquisite - the beautiful Chelsea with the sunlight dancing through her hair, who could have easily relied on her looks to get by in this world but instead is using her intelligence and is dedicated to helping the entire world with alternative energy sources, very admirable indeed.
Bill, what are you doing next year? Have you considered a 1,000 portrait project? We are all going to miss this! - Julie Wow. Absolutely stunning. - Mary Elizabeth Williams - maryelizabethwilliams.net Hey Bill,

The world gets to see a little of what we see almost every day.

Love the breeze animating her hair. - Tony - www.tonypinto.net yes, she glows! - kate Brilliant freakin' photograph. Really off the charts good stuff. - AL glow away glow worm:D - Liv I think that's the lead foot EV chic that took me for a ride in the new TELSA and had me screaming my head off! I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. Each photo was taken that day, and each day was a different subject. Some were be in the studio, some in the wild. Hopefully they are all interesting.
