Marie Armstrong | Newlywed, Hong Kong Bound / London Bridge SE1

What a strange expression on her face. She looks determined yet at peace. She's got a very strong presence. It's that same look/expression that Holly Hunter had on her face all throughout the movie The Piano that won her an Oscar. I really love the DOF and lighting choices. The slight movement of the hair really add that special touch - especially that highlighted strands on the left side. Exquisite job!

Love her leather jacket, and the way her hair is moving. This picture reminds me of Japanese animation.

Is she cold? Is she sick? Why is her nose red? She looks sad but totally content at the same time! She's pretty.
- Danielle

Gorgeous juxtaposition of tough and delicate.
- Superfluous Aussie

Wait a second, are you telling me that this is outside? The light is amazing!!! I like this photo a lot. Really intense, but simple at the same time. Great work again!
- Ela

there's a whole entire world of a story going on behind her eyes. it makes me want to know how it all ends. it's an entire movie captured in one still frame.

Wonderful portrait!

first thought popping up: horrormovie... sorry.
- samsplanet

I thought she had been crying and her eyes still held the thoughts of the sorrow of the thing. I want to kiss her.

Ethereal skin. Worldly eyes. So beautiful.

Having met you the other night Marie, when you were all smiles, this is astonishing. I see what people mean about the filmic quality, whether horror (Marie the Vampire Slayer?) or anime. In your leather jacket you could be on your way to Kill Bill (not Wadman, though). Are you Hong Kong bound to work with Jackie Chan?
- Simon

Really interesting (and captivating) portrait Marie/Bill. The way the picture presents you is at odds at how I know you, which takes some getting used to. To echo previous comments, you look like you've had everything taken away from you, but you are determined to get it back. I guess good/interesting portrats includes presenting people not necessarily in tune with their persona. I think you do 'KateBeckinsdalesqueHauntedAssassin' really, really well. :-)

Sad girl. Love this shot!

The sideways glance, the hair in motion, the leather jacket, and a newlywed on her way to Hong Kong -- totally a secret government assassin. And I mean that in a good, La Femme Nikita kind of way. (For the record, the French original, not the limp US remake.)

Yes, people truly believe that I work for a law firm when actually I'm a hit woman with a heart. Husband none to happy with sad look I might add - not at all indicative of the early months of our marriage!
- Marie

I don't see it as a sad look at all -- more like you just noticed the hapless soul walk by whose time on this earth you will shortly be bringing to a close.
- nuno

I think that she looks rather sad...but beautiful. Like she sees the badness in the world, and is resolved about it. She looks like she just survived something big and she's still trying to get her bearings.
- Diane

She has a sad beauty to her...a gentle strength...

Beautiful woman, beautiful shot. Such emotion in her eyes.
- Bethany

I really love this photo. The expression you got on the model is incredible. I assume this is a composite because of the glow on her neck at the corners of the collar.
