Bernd Schmitt - Professor, Marketing Guru / Columbia University May 08, 2007
I really like this one. I'm definately starting to see a trend in blues in the whole project hehe. - JF Just makes you think, don't it? - Eaglefille - http://gonzaga.facebook.com/profile.php?name=28206276 I really like the intens blue colours. Behind Bernd, is that a shadow or some kind of art? - Laura - http://www.lauravink.nl I was wondering the same thing as Laura... Is that actually a shadow back there? - Elise O. - elise.ownbeys.com Knowing Schmitt, I'm impressed that you were able to capture his essence so subtly -- it's as if he's daring you to not be distracted by the window dressing but to focus on the message/meaning he's putting out there. A brilliant metaphor for what those committed to building meaningful brands face daily. - WOW the art piece on the wall has marvelous blues!! same with the tie! And I love how he is almost interacting with us. Excellent work again! - Ela I like the play with hands. I would assume it says a lot about his teaching style. Nice honest composition, nice work Bill. - Alexander I love that Ozwald Boateng on Schmitt. It's classy yet modern, with a little avant-garde mixed in. One look at this picture tells you exactly why Schmitt is a guru--hip yet just disheveled enough to be a big thinker. - Levav Oh my goodness, I love this one. The composition is wonderful, with the blue hand over the subject's head and his own hand point at his eye. And It's so open-ended, you could inject any meaning. Great job, Bill. - nuno another gem - Joshua R - abittasty.wordpress.com Not sure how Laura and Elise O. could mistake it as a "shadow," but that's a Xue Song art piece on the wall. Very cool contemporary Chinese artist, Shanghai scene, I believe. This piece is mixed media -- acrylic paints with collage of an article on Chinese consumers (written by Schmitt), photos of Song Schmitt, etc. - artstudentxy Aha! Schmitt mentioned the morning's photo shoot on his own blog, but I didn't realize this one with was by an art photographer, not just press.
I think this portrait is really sharp, full of personality and dynamism. I even like it more than the ones from Schmitt's last real shoot in Asia, although those "Apple ad" shots are fun too -- at http://www.meetschmitt.com/ (hit "refresh" to see 5 portraits) - david - http://www.meetschmitt.com/ I like how his tie is crooked. - Danielle Ngo goodness this is LOVELY - KB The blue looks so cool. I guess my friend who took photos of Schmitt in Shanghai will be jealous when seeing it. - April that is indeed a xue song piece in the background and he is indeed part of the shanghai school - amazing work btw. - artstudent2 This fabulous photo of SCHMITT in front of the Wall of SCHMITT should definitely be posted on the Wall of SCHMITT. - Peterson
I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. Each photo was taken that day, and each day was a different subject. Some were be in the studio, some in the wild. Hopefully they are all interesting.
