Carl Wilson - Grand Canyon Junkie / 280 Feet Below Sea Level, Badwater, Death Valley, CA October 05, 2007
I would differ in opinion and applaud this capture...I feel the rolling mountains complement his nomadic spirit, adventurous, and his soul as free as the open road ahead. - Cycleogical He seems like he's on a totally different planet. I dig it. - Danielle Not your best, if I may say so? I love the location and the colors especially the blue in the shirt and the mountains that complement each other. And then the yellow that contrasts it. but I find the lines quite disturbing. They seem to cut him in half. which makes him only half the giant in the picture. what do you think? - Pixie What a great idea. I liked the photodiary of Frank Novak, but this diaries are all too lose in a subject matter. Of course! Portrait a day! I like your portraits. It's a good mixture of staying focused and still inventive in each picture.
I do a creative portrait every week and I know it's really difficult sometimes, but if you jump in the water you learn how to swim.
Ciao,
Borut - Borut Peterlin - http://borutpeterlin.mladina.si i love it! the subtle burnt and sandy colours, the large expanse and wind ruffling his hair bring up the notion of the sublime, however the subject's size makes him significant and i get the sense it's like, yeah man here's the road of life, and i'm chilled and loving it.
probably my favourite so far... - nat This young man doesn't belong to the desert, but he is having the time of his life. The picture contrasts the youth with the age old salt at the bottom of the world. I was there when I was young. I didn't belong and left. Had a great time while there. Still tell the stories. I like it. The sweep of the salt flat is nice placement. I admire your use of light. - John Andrews This makes me want to go out west. I didn't expect Death Valley to look so misty, and you've captured a sense of freedom in this one. - thymiane3000 - http://chiaroscuro-photo.blogspot.com/ Again, the perspective is amazing, colors stunning, and the model interesting. How do you nail it 99% of the time, Bill? - Ela Colors in this are gorgeous. My favorite of yours from your trip! =) - AL
I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. Each photo was taken that day, and each day was a different subject. Some were be in the studio, some in the wild. Hopefully they are all interesting.
