Martha is beautiful. The shot is beautiful. So you must be beautiful too. - yes, this is very beautiful. - andrea - www.andreamann.com Good close portrait. Tightly cropped so no extraneous background. I like this. However, the focus on her right eye is poor and this distracts. Perhaps a longer lens with more distance would give a deeper depth of focus. I like the expression. She looks nice. - John Andrews I'm not thrilled with the blurriness in the rear - John I disagree. I think the soft focus on the right eye is good. It puts the main focus on the left eye, and that side of the face. A good, soft portrait. - Jordan Ogren - http//www.jordanogren.com who is john andrews? is he the guy that takes school photos for a living? - superfluous aussie Both of Martha's eyes look happy! - Julie Aeeeee.... Very nice portrait of my friend Martha - Marcus Steinmeyer - www.flickr.com/msfolio Congrats for the beautiful pic. You perfectly captured her face & soul! - Tera i'd like to get to know her. - samsplanet Chu, you look amazing...as usual! The picture is beautiful and makes me miss you even more! - helena Amazing picture. Martha is, indeed, a happy person. :-)
And who's this John Andrews guy? Do you really think Bill Wadman doesn't know what kind of lens he should be using and you should teach him how to photograph? Do you think he took lots of pictures, selected one, published it here and after your comment he realized "OMG the right eye is blurry, how could I not realize it before?! Thanks you John Andrews!". What a tool... - Ibere - http://www.retardedcomics.com This is a very flattering photo. I quite like the choices you've made in regards to focal range - not to mention the lighting, crop, pose, and background choice. Its all very complimentary to each other. I think I've come to figure out that I tend to prefer photos with a seemingly unidirectional lighting scheme as shown in this photo.
P.S. - Lets not jump on Mr Andrews for voicing his opinions and offered suggestions. The wise understand its usefulness and value regardless . ;) - Duluoz Well said, Duluoz.
And what if he wanted it blurry?
I love Martha's oh so gentle smile! - Danielle My first thoughts of this are it reminds me of a portrait painting with the soft hues and texture...and love it as always.
In addition to Duluoz' comment about keeping things in perspective around here, I second that emotion ;) - Cycleogical is Marthi!! beautiful and with a very special charisma. this is the reason that we like you so much. - Isabel Too many blur, too many sharpness. It's not image about real people. - Timur Gilfanov she is a goddess - Tangerine I love this series of portraits but for me this is one of the weakest. - Nathan beautiful use of DoF here.. a phrase often thrown around but I'm serious this time! :)
great stuff Bill - Daniel Krieger - www.danielkrieger.com
I'm Bill Wadman, a New York-based photographer who after completing my first 365 Project, and then a weekly 52 Project, took it upon myself to shoot and post one portrait every day of 2007. Each photo was taken that day, and each day was a different subject. Some were be in the studio, some in the wild. Hopefully they are all interesting.
