He doesn't strike me as the gambling type... but I have been wrong before.
- Mikey

The background really distracts from the person and doesn't tell a story. Sorry, but this is just a snapshot. Not up to your recent good shots.
- John Andrews

Sure it tells a story, you must not know much about the Flamingo. I like the more casual feel of this image in comparison with the recent crop of photos. And the lighting on this guys face is spot on.

what makes this picture interesting for me is the perspective of the background. driveway and roof...

A mild mannered computer engineer, father and husband, out on the town. What adventures await? But who ironed that shirt?
- Karen Yee

Turns out this photo is less about gambling, and more about taking a chance. I hope he gets that coffee shop.

unless he's trying to get it by ways of gambling...

Terrible picture. It looks like a flamingo is growing out of the top of Richard's head...

sorry - this is not a favorite, it looks like he is wearing the "Flamingo" sign like an uncomfortable hat upon his head...sorry! Oh well, looking forward to the next one instead!

OK, I'll agree - it does look like a vacation snapshot. But I like it! I see an interesting shot of a Vegas spot known round the world. The entire picture is clearly focused and colorful, with the desert blue sky (matching the blue shirt, by the way) the tall white building, pink sign, yellow entryway and green shrubs. His head and shoulders are nicely framed by the "pie" and other lights. More importantly, I see an individual just oozing personality and pleasantness -- so much so that i would very much like to know more.

Great perspective shot and wonderful, vibrant color in this shot. Very warm, vivid and appealing. And his expression is warm to match. Great balance once again between subject and scene. I think you have a knack for this. Dave Marcotte
